Anyone who finds Flair strictly superficial might want to take a closer look at this month’s issue.

After introducing a new “healthy fitness” writer in May, two new columnists make their debuts on these pages. All are accomplished local women and fine writers; I urge you to give them a read.

Joining the Flair chorus again this month is the Mistress of Mojo Fitness and MOVE!, Cindy Brauer. A Malvern mom, Cindy returns with a facts-based look at dieting, exercise and metabolism. Her thesis? Too much of a good thing is precisely that: too much.

In “Hold that Thought” we present the nimble musings of Jean Kane, Devon multi-tasker extraordinaire. This month she offers a fresh take on the “Lean In” controversy that grew out of a Facebook executive’s much buzzed-about book.

Kane’s words should inspire us to dive into life mindfully and with purpose, whatever our individual calling.

My hope is that her “Hold that Thought” columns will reinforce for all of us the value of approaching life’s mental, spiritual, family and occupational challenges with, ahem, flair.

And just so you know we haven’t forgotten to serve a little eye candy with our vitamins, we present Gail Slogoff, the Main Line’s resident “Beauty Junkie.”

A Merion mom, Gail’s name may be familiar to readers with similar proclivities.

She’s the author of the popular beauty blog, Be Blushing. This month Gail focuses her mascara-ed eyes on that one-stop-beauty-buy-come-lately, BB creams.

Hope in a jar? You betcha.

Enjoy our other features and photos, and more important, a lively and lovely summer.

See you in September.
